Right after that first tour started, Johnny, Mike's bass player, broke his elbow and Mike hired Brent. Brent toured with Mike until the last tour, Deke said he would be fired if Brent went on the last tour. Brent also recorded on the second solo walbum. So, not really atwist of fate, Mike always liked Brent. They called him to audition for the band last August, but for some reason hired Matt before the audition happened. The rest is history I guess.Originally posted by geekgirlxx:

I distinctly remember the Conan performance. At that time , Brent Harding was playing with Deke Dickerson still and the upright player from Solitaire was sick or something, so Brent was filling in. Kinda funny really ... it was Mike's 'solo' record they were pushing, but if you take away two guitarists and replace them with TwoBags, you have the current lineup for Social D. An odd twist of fate... or something.
Brent left the Eccofonics about 4 years ago. Just went to Deke's Sunday for a BBQ and saw Deke's old band the Dave and Deke Combo reunited with the original lineup even. Was pretty darn cool. Seeing that band 12 years ago is what made Brent learn the stand up in the first place. One of those life changing experiences.

thanks, you are on top of things.
